The FinTech Wales Foundry accelerator has completed its 2021 programme.
In Brief:
The accelerator was created in partnership with Admiral Pioneer, Principality Building Society and Cardiff Capital Region.
Eight companies were included: Wagonex, Zing Cover, Sero, Yimba, Voltric, ShipShape, Laytrip and Viaduct.
The programme, which lasted 12 weeks, included a “whistle-stop tour” of the Welsh FinTech sector.
What does this mean?
The Foundry was set up to support FinTechs on their growth journey in Wales, helping them build connections with mentors, potential investors, supporting organisations and the public sector. So far, the companies have generated a £9mn fundraising pipeline with venture capitalists and angels. The programme has also supported the companies in hiring 12 new senior roles and 20 roles in total.
