Experian, the credit reporting business, has invested $7.9mn in MOVA, a Brazilian FinTech company.
In Brief:
The investment leaves Experian with a majority (51%) stake in the firm.
MOVA offers data-driven credit assessments of SMEs to companies.
These can be banks or non-banks with small and medium sized business clients.
What does this mean?
Experian, now the majority stakeholder, also has the option to acquire the rest of the company between 2026 and 2028, according to FinTech Futures. However the transaction is currently subject to approval by the Brazilian regulators.
