Standard Chartered has appointed Diego De Giorgi as its new group chief financial officer (GCFO) and group executive director (GED).
In brief:
-De Giorgi assumed the position as GCFO designate on 1 September and is expected to join the board as GED in Q1 2024, pending regulatory approval.
-He brings over three decades of experience in financial services to the role
-De Giorgi held a variety of leadership roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch during a six-year tenure starting in 2013. He also spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs.

Speaking on his latest appointment by Standard Chartered, De Giorgi says he hopes to “capture the opportunities presented by the bank’s extraordinary footprint. I look forward to helping maximise the great potential of Standard Chartered while maintaining financial discipline and capital strength.”
