Coinbase hires ex-Facebook VP as CMO 

Coinbase has hired Kate Rouch as its new Chief Marketing Officer. 

In Brief:

Rouch was previously Vice President and Global Head of Brand & Product Marketing at Facebook. 

She was with the social media giant for 11 years. 

The Coinbase platform enables people to buy and sell cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. 

What does this mean?

In a LinkedIn announcement, Rouch described the move as boarding “a new rocketship”, since Coinbase is now the same size as Facebook was when she joined. She says she has been attracted by the business’ “visionary founder” and “bold mission” to create more economic freedom.
