Chip raises £2.6mn crowdfunding

UK FinTech Chip has raised £2.6mn through Crowdcube.

In Brief:

  • Chip offers a smart savings app.

  • More than 4000 investors were involved in the latest funding.

  • It took place on a private investment page where individuals had to register.

What does this mean?

This is the largest equity funding round to have taken place since the Coronavirus lockdown.  Co-founder Luke Land says the successful fundraise shows there is still an appetite for communities and investors to support startups and scaleups, despite the economic uncertainty.
