British e-commerce FinTech Checkout.com has joined the Libra Association.
In Brief:
Libra is Facebook’s digital currency under development, currently referred to as a “basketcoin”.
The Association now stands at 25 members.
Notable members include Coinbase and Uber, as well as Facebook.
What does this mean?
April also saw Heifer International join the Association, but this follows several high-profile drop outs, including Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, eBay and Stripe.
Checkout.com’s CEO has however said the Association not only shares the FinTech’s philosophy, but has also demonstrated a “thoughtful and realistic” approach to leveraging blockchain. It also aligns with a goal of Libra’s not many can argue with – increasing financial inclusion.
