Barclays has hired Antony Stephen, formerly head of European payments at Amazon.
In Brief:
Stephen joins as CEO of Barclays Partner Finance.
He's also heading up its legal entity, Clydesdale Financial Services Ltd.
He will focus on scaling Barclays’ Point of Sale business.
What does this mean?
Stephen previously led a $50bn portfolio of payment products including credit cards at Amazon. He will now help to grow Barclays’ point-of-sale business in the UK which aims to create an end-to-end experience between customers and SMEs.
