Appital raises £2.5mn from Frontline, angels

London based marketplace Appital has raised £2.5mn from Frontline Ventures and angel investors. 

In Brief:

It hopes to unlock latent liquidity in equity capital markets. 

The FinTech will help the buy-side get greater exposure to deal flow. 

The funding will help develop technology infrastructure and hire engineers. 

What does this mean? 

Appital is seeking to disrupt an area of financial services that has been left behind amid the digital transformation of so many areas. It still uses a lot of legacy systems and has not benefitted from new solutions like automation.
