Amazon launches Amazon One for payments by palm

Amazon is introducing a new payment system where users can pay by allowing their palm to be scanned.

In Brief:

  • Amazon One has been designed for use in brick-and-mortar stores.

  • Users can hover their hand in the air for about a second to pay.

  • The product is currently being trialed at two physical Amazon stores in Seattle.

What does this mean?

The product is just being trialled at the moment but Amazon says it’s speaking to various customers about implementing the solution. It sees Amazon One as an “alternate payment or loyalty card option” - and at the moment touch free solutions are what everyone is looking for.
