Modulr gains e-money licence in Ireland  

FinTech Modulr has been granted an e-money licence by the Central Bank of Ireland.  

In Brief:  

  • Modulr offers payments-as-a-service solutions for clients such as Revolut.  

  • Its Dublin base will now be able to expand services to EU businesses.  

  • The FinTech says through its partners it could bring digital, frictionless payments experiences to more than 500mn people.  

What does this mean? 

Modulr says the licence marks a “significant milestone” and Dublin will now be the base for its European expansion journey which can now go ahead regardless of Brexit.
