€100mn VC fund launched for European digital platforms  

VC company Samaipata is launching a new €100mn fund to invest in digital platforms across Europe.  

In Brief:  

  • The firm invests in pre-seed and seed platforms.  

  • It has closed €75mn of the new fund and hopes to have the total in a few months.  

  • It will invest €1.5mn in 20-25 companies, as well as making follow-up investments.  

What does this mean?  

Samaipata was founded in 2016 and its first fund was worth €30mn. It plans to invest in a range of digitally focused startups across the continent and according to Sifted its aim is for the European ecosystem to “rival the US and China”.
