Klarna reaches $10.65bn valuation  

Buy now, pay later FinTech Klarna has been valued at $10.65bn following its latest funding round.  

In Brief:  

  • The FinTech raised $650mn  

  • Silver Lake was the leading investor in the round.  

  • Klarna Is now the highest-valued private FinTech in Europe.  

What does this mean?  

It’s also now the fourth highest valued FinTech in the world, following the round which was made up of new and existing investors including Asian FinTech giant Ant Group.  The app, which works across 200,000 retail partners, has more than 12mn monthly active users across the globe. Klarna says it has seen a huge shift to ecommerce and consumers want flexible, convenient ways to pay.
