HSBC to allow digital US account opening  

HSBC has announced it will launch a digital application journey for international clients opening US accounts.

In Brief:

  • HSBC Bank USA has launched an application for digital International Client Onboarding (ICO).

  • The experience will take place online and includes virtual ID verification.

  • It will include both new-to-bank and existing international clients.

What does this mean?

HSBC says the need for digital onboarding has been exacerbated by the global pandemic. The bank has also cited customer service as a key focus for making this process an important part of the user’s journey and relationship with the bank.
