Santander to accelerate digital transformation with big tech hires

Santander has announced it will hire 3000 IT professionals across the globe.  

In Brief:  

  • Around 1000 new hires will be made in Spain.  

  • Santander is looking for those with a STEM background.  

  • The banking giant has pledges to spend £18bn on technology transformation by 2022.  

What does this mean?  

The new staff will support the business on its digital journey and it’s hoped they will improve efficiency within the organisation, helping manage cost and other factors. Some key areas the bank is hiring in will include AI and cybersecurity.
