Government officially launches Future Fund

The Future Fund, another method for the government to support businesses throughout Covid-19, has launched.

In Brief:

  • £250mn has been set aside in investment.

  • UK businesses can apply for a convertible loan worth £125,000-£5mn.

  • This will be invested as matched funding in businesses that have already raised the same amount from private investors.

What does this mean?

Aiming to support “high growth” businesses with a proven record of raising, the fund is focused on “continued growth and innovation” in sectors including technology, life sciences and the creative industries.  The Future Fund is also a signatory of the Investing in Women code.
