Digital identity company Onfido has secured £80mn ($100mn) funding.
This will be used to boost ID technology.
Onfido will look to create ‘immunity passports’ for governments in light of Coronavirus.
The funding round was led by TPG Growth and brings total raised up to £200mn.
What does this mean?
Being able to verify someone’s identity remotely is more important than ever during lockdown, but so far a very small minority of people actually use it. This could be one of many digital developments that is spurred on through necessity during the global pandemic.
