Starling Bank has launched a new feature allowing users to deposit cheques.
Cheque imaging allows a bank to process a cheque from a photo rather than the real thing.
The feature is limited to £500 in value.
It’s only available to select users at the moment but will eventually be rolled out across all accounts.
What does this mean?
The ability to deposit cheques remotely will be especially helpful during lockdown. According to AltFi, the imaging feature was due to launch later this year but has been fast tracked due to the pandemic.
