UK government challenges technology companies to support those in isolation

The government has made funding £500,000 available for technology companies who can offer solutions for those staying at home.

In Brief:

  • Up to £25,000 per company is available.

  • The TechForce19 challenge aims to support those who have to stay home for a number of weeks.

  • This could include digital solutions for remote social care, mental health support or easing pressure on services.

What does this mean?

This was announced on 23 March, since which time the vast majority of people now have to stay at home. Many technology companies including FinTechs will be able to adapt their services to help those in isolation.
