Coinbase becomes Visa Principal Member

Cryptocurrency business Coinbase is now a Visa Principal Member, giving it more control over its product.

In Brief:

  • Coinbase has been working with Paysage to issue the Coinbase Card.

  • This is a Visa Debit card that works with Coinbase account balance.

  • Users can spend money in 10 cryptocurrencies by choosing which wallet to use for each transaction.

What does this mean?

As a Visa Principal Member, it’s hoped Coinbase can rely less on Paysafe and take more control. The Coinbase Card is offered in 29 European countries currently, and this will be expanded going forward.
