WorldRemit partners with Alipay

Remittance business WorldRemit and payments giant Alipay have launched a partnership.

In Brief:

  • Consumers will be able to use WorldRemit’s platform for crossborder remittances to the Alipay app.

  • Currently remittances are often done offline.

  • The partnership aims to make transfer services more convenient and inclusive.

What does this mean?

WorldRemit’s vision is to build a mobil-first service for remittances and the partnership will look at innovation, customer experience and speed to market. For Alipay, it’s one step on a journey to harness the power of digital and build a more inclusive financial services sector for underserved markets.
