Ripple secures $200mn funding

Ripple has announced $200mn Series C funding.

In Brief:

  • It marks a ‘record year’ for the business.
  • The company’s payments network, RippleNet, now has more than 300 customers globally.
  • The round included Tetragon, SBI Holdings and Route 66 Ventures.

What does this mean?

The investors are also partners who will be able to share industry insight and experience with Ripple as it scales. The company’s CEO has pointed to Ripple’s strong position and growth within the blockchain space despite many companies having ‘slowed’.
