GoCardless teams up with TransferWise to launch service for recurring payments

In Brief

  • The new global network will help customers manage subscriptions, invoices and other recurring payments in a simple and transparent manner.
  • It will allow GoCardless customers to collect payments via multiple bank debit schemes around the world, using APIs, and so avoid having to navigate country-specific rules.
  • The partnership (using Transferwise API) helps businesses benefit from low cost, convenient and transparent pricing in multiple currencies without leaving their account.

What this means

The new service is spurred by research that shows, while, 58 percent of UK businesses plan to grow internationally within the next five years, nearly 20 percent say the complexity of taking international payments is inhibiting that expansion.
