Blockchain market to be worth $10bn in revenue by 2023

A study by ABI Research has predicted the global revenue for blockchain technology will reach £10bn in revenue by 2023.

In Brief:

  • While ICOs in 2018 have shown a significant decrease, overall growth of the underlying blockchain technology is high.

  • Venture capital funding for blockchain infrastructure is on the up.

  • There is currently a lack of middleware technology options but this should emerge by 2021.

What does this mean?

While blockchain was just a few years ago solely associated with Bitcoin, crypto assets are almost forgotten in the conversation about the technology’s potential today. Development of middleware tech should help blockchain fully emerge as a technology adopted by startups and larger organisations alike.
