WhatsApp to launch mobile payments in Indonesia

WhatsApp is reportedly in talks to launch mobile payments in Indonesia.

In Brief:

  • The Facebook-owned company is also launching a P2P payment platform in India.

  • In Indonesia, it will partner with existing local digital wallets instead due to regulations.

  • According to Reuters, the business is currently speaking to a number of digital payment firms in the hopes of making a deal.
