As an ActiveQuote BI Developer, you will be working at all levels to push automation, reporting and analytics across the organisation. The successful applicant will help implement new BI tools across the business.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work with people from across the organisation to gather and understand business requirements and deliver these into actionable reports and analytics.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the business data and learn how the data supports the business goals, operations and processes.
  • Design, develop, maintain and continually improve ActiveQuote’s business intelligence solutions and processes.
  • Work with the other members of the BI & Data function and the wider DevOps team to manage and resolve incidents that affect the provision of data, reports and BI.
  • Responsible for delivering data and information to the business to enable senior management to make better and more informed decisions.
  • To constantly display and encourage ActiveQuote company values of INTEGRITY, UNITY, INNOVATION and PASSION.


Skills & EducationEssential

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to quickly spot issues from data
  • Strong ability to investigate and resolve business issues and draw conclusions from data
  • Consistent drive to continue learning, proactively monitor BI trends and be able to suggest new tools and processes that could be incorporated into ActiveQuote’s BI strategy
  • An innovative approach to finding solutions for improving efficiency
  • Confident when communicating ideas
  • Excellent working knowledge of Transact SQL



  • Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Exposure to SQL Integration Services
  • Skilled in Power BI
  • Preferable experience in SQL Server 2016 database administration


Specific requirements for the role

  • Able to work 37.5hrs per week on a flexible basis.
  • Normal business hours are between 9am - 8pm Mon-Thurs, 9am – 5.30pm Friday, 10am - 2pm Sat.
  • As we are regulated by the FCA we are unable to take applications from anyone with a history of bankruptcy, IVAs or CCJs.
